A Christmas universe

Hilde Skorgenes has a background in floristry and has been styling Slettvoll shops for 15 years. Her goal is not only to create an atmospheric and stress-free environment for your shopping trip, but also to inspire others to create an adventurous environment at home.

She really wants Christmas at home to feel authentic and personal.

“Although I enjoy making beautiful decorations, I also make room for the Christmas decorations that my children have made over the years, as well as other sentimental items. They are a part of our history, almost like a memory book brought out at Christmas.

Alternative to the Christmas tree

Christmas decorations are often brought out for many years and sometimes are heirlooms handed down through the family. They can be used for more than just the Christmas tree.

- Not everyone wants a Christmas tree. A decorated Christmas wreath is another great option. I used a large wreath and hung baubles in green, brown and natural tones with velvet ribbons in this arrangement. Smaller wreaths can be hung above the dining table. The ornaments really come into their own at that point”, according to Hilde. She has decorated using both wreaths and Christmas decorations from Slettvoll's collection, and she hopes to inspire others to create their own Christmas magic at home.

The Killington wreath is made of a realistic noble fir imitation in a long-lasting synthetic material. The wreath is adorned with pinecones for a more natural appearance. It is also available with LED lights, which create an atmospheric effect when the winter darkness falls.
